The Mississippi Department of Human Services is offering free paternity testing this month. This can save you anywhere between $300 to $500 dollars if you need a DNA paternity test to be run.
Of course, there’s a reason they’re offering the free test. The state is paying the expenses because officials want to increase child support collections by the end of this month, when the federal budget year wraps up. Before child support can be ordered, a father must either admit paternity or a test must prove it.
If you are interested in this free testing—remember, it’s during September 2009 only—contact your local office of the Mississippi Department of Human Services.
